The dry heat of Priya's mouth on my collarbone pulls me up from sleep like a hand reaching into water. I'm not fully awake—I'm somewhere between the dream and the cabin's cold morning air—but my body knows her before my mind does. The soft press of her lips, the small wet sound she makes as she kisses along the bone, the way her breath warms my skin in the dim light filtering through the cabin's grimy windows.
Her bound hands slide down my stomach, the rope scratching against my skin, and I feel the roughness of it catch on the trail of hair below my navel. She's still tied. I left her that way last night, and she didn't ask me to change it. She just curled against me and slept, her head on my shoulder, her wrists pressed between us.
Now she's awake, and she's touching me like she's asking for something.
I open my eyes. The cabin ceiling is water-stained wood, and the morning light is gray and weak, but Priya's face is close enough that I can see the flecks of gold in her dark eyes. She's watching me, half-lidded, her lips still on my skin, and there's something in her expression that makes my chest tighten—not fear, not hesitation. Want. Plain and unguarded.
"Morning," she whispers against my collarbone.
My hand finds her hair, tangles in the dark strands. "You're awake early."
"Couldn't sleep." She kisses lower, her mouth dragging across my chest, and I feel her tongue flick against my nipple, the small shock of it traveling straight down. "You were warm."
I don't answer. I just look at her—at the rope around her wrists, at the way her naked body presses against mine, at the trust in her eyes that I haven't earned and don't deserve. She called me hers last night. She said she chose this. I still don't fully understand it, but I'm not going to argue with a gift that's already in my hands.
Her bound hands find the waistband of my boxers, and I feel her fingers fumble at the elastic, the rope making her clumsy. She huffs a small frustrated breath, and I almost smile.
"Let me," I say, and I hook my thumbs under the fabric and push it down.
Her eyes track the movement, and when my cock springs free, hard and already aching from her mouth on my skin, I watch her lips part. She reaches for me, but the rope stops her short—she can't grip, can only brush the backs of her fingers against the shaft, and the feather-light touch makes me hiss through my teeth.
"Sorry," she murmurs, but there's a smile in her voice.
"You're not sorry."
"No." She looks up at me, and her eyes are dark and knowing. "I'm not."
I roll her onto her back.
The mattress creaks beneath us, the old springs complaining, and she lets out a small surprised breath as her shoulders hit the pillow. Her bound hands come up between us, pressed against my chest, and I look down at her—at the mess of dark hair spread across the pillowcase, at the flush already rising on her cheeks, at the way her body opens to me like she's been waiting for this all night.
"Justin," she breathes, and my name sounds different in her mouth than it does anywhere else. It sounds like a prayer and a promise and a question all at once.
I settle over her, my weight pressing her into the mattress, and I feel the soft give of her body beneath mine. Her thighs part for me without being asked, and I feel the wet heat of her against my hip as I position myself. My hand finds her bound wrists and pins them above her head, and I watch her eyes flutter closed, then open again, fixed on mine.
"Look at me," I say, and it comes out rougher than I meant it to.
She does. She looks at me like I'm the only thing in the world worth seeing.
I reach down, guide myself to her entrance, and I feel her—wet and slick and already so ready for me that I have to stop for a second, have to breathe, because if I don't, I'm going to lose it before I'm even inside her.
"Please," she whispers, and the word cracks something open in my chest.
I push inside her.
Slow. So slow I feel every inch of her heat closing around me, the tight grip of her body pulling me deeper. Her mouth falls open, a sound caught in her throat, and her bound hands strain against my grip like she wants to reach for me but can't. Her eyes are half-lidded, glassy, and I watch the exact moment I'm fully seated inside her—the way her breath catches, the way her hips tilt up to take more, the way her lips form my name without sound.
"Justin," she gasps, and the sound of it, broken and desperate, goes straight through me.
I'm fully inside her. I can feel her pulse through my cock, the rhythmic clench of her body already working me, and I hold still for a moment, just feeling her. Just feeling this. Her legs wrap around my waist, her heels digging into my lower back, and I feel the rope on her wrists scratch against my hand as she tries to pull free.
"Don't," I say. "Keep them there."
She nods, her eyes never leaving mine, and I feel her body relax beneath me, opening further, taking me deeper.
I begin to move.
The first stroke pulls me almost all the way out, and I feel the drag of her inner walls against my cock, wet and tight and perfect. Then I push back in, slow and deep, and I watch her face as I fill her—the way her brows draw together, the way her lips part, the way her breath comes out in a shuddering sigh.
I pull out again, slower this time, letting the drag of her heat run the whole length of me before I sink back in. The mattress groans beneath us, a sound that's become as familiar as her breathing in the dark of this room. Her bound wrists strain above her head, the rope creaking, and I tighten my grip on them without thinking, pinning her harder into the pillow.
"That's it," I murmur, watching her face. "Take all of it."
Her eyes are glassy, fixed on mine, and I see the exact moment the rhythm of my hips settles into her—the way her body stops fighting and starts moving with me, a slow, rolling counterpoint that pulls me deeper with every stroke. She's not just lying there. She's riding me from underneath, her hips tilting to meet mine, her heels pressing into my lower back, drawing me in.
"You feel so good," she breathes, the words coming out in a rush. "God, Justin, you feel—"
I cut her off with a deeper thrust, burying myself to the hilt, and her breath catches in a sharp gasp. Her bound hands twist in my grip, the rope scratching against my palm, and I feel her inner walls clench around me, a rhythmic pulse that tells me she's close even if she doesn't know it yet.
"Not yet," I say, pulling back to the edge, hovering there. "I want to feel you come apart first."
She makes a sound that's half-laugh, half-moan, her head pressing back into the pillow. "That's not—" Another stroke steals the words from her mouth. "That's not how it works."
"Isn't it?"
I slow down, almost to a stop, just the head of my cock pressing against her entrance, teasing her. Her hips chase me, trying to take me deeper, and I hold still, watching the frustration build in her eyes. The flush on her cheeks deepens. Her lips part, then close, then part again, like she's trying to find the words to beg.
"Please," she whispers, and the word is raw, scraped from somewhere low in her throat.
"Please what?"
"Please—" She swallows, her eyes searching mine. "Please fuck me. Don't stop. I need—"
I give her what she's asking for. I push back in, slow and deep, and I feel her body open for me, take me all the way in, and I hold there for a moment, pressed against the deepest part of her. Her eyes flutter closed, and I watch the pulse jump in her throat as she breathes through it.
"Look at me," I say again, softer this time.
Her eyes open, and there's something in them that makes my chest tighten—not just want, not just need. Something rawer. Something she's not saying out loud. She's looking at me like I'm the only thing holding her together, and I don't know what to do with that, so I just keep moving, keep the rhythm steady, keep my eyes on hers.
The rope around her wrists is rough against my fingers, and I feel the texture of it, the coarse fibers digging into her skin. She doesn't flinch. She just watches me, her breath coming in short, sharp gasps, her body rising to meet every stroke. I can feel the tension building in her, the way her thighs tremble against my hips, the way her inner walls start to flutter around me.
"You're close," I say, and it's not a question.
She nods, her lips parted, her eyes glazed. "Don't stop. Please don't stop."
I don't. I keep the rhythm slow and deep, each stroke dragging against her walls, and I feel her start to shake beneath me. Her bound hands strain against my grip, and I loosen my hold just enough to let her fingers curl around mine, the rope scratching against my skin as she holds on. Her hips move faster, chasing the edge, and I match her, driving deeper, harder, until I feel her body arch beneath me, a sharp, shuddering breath escaping her lips.
"Justin—"
Her voice breaks on my name, and I feel her clench around me, a tight, pulsing grip that pulls me deeper, and I hold still, letting her come on my cock, feeling every wave of it ripple through her body. Her eyes are locked on mine, glassy and wide, and I watch the exact moment she lets go—the way her mouth falls open, the way her body bows, the way her hands grip mine so hard the rope bites into both of us.
"Good girl," I whisper against her throat, and I feel her shiver at the words, a small, broken sound escaping her lips.
She's still trembling under me, the aftershocks rippling through her thighs, and I can feel her pulse through the rope-burned skin of her wrists. I stay inside her a moment longer, just feeling the slow clench of her body around me, the way she holds me there like she doesn't want me to leave.
Then I pull out, and the sound of it—wet, obscene in the quiet room—makes her cheeks flush deeper. She doesn't look away. She watches me, her eyes dark and soft, and I see the question forming on her lips before she speaks it.
"What happens now?"
I reach down, brush a strand of hair from her face. "Now you make coffee."
She blinks. "What?"
"Coffee," I repeat, and I'm already sitting up, swinging my legs off the mattress. The cold air hits my skin, and I hear her shift behind me, feel her eyes on my back. "There's a stove in the main room. I need caffeine before I deal with anything else."
I stand, pull my boxers back on, and turn to look at her. She's still lying there, wrists bound, naked, a faint sheen of sweat on her collarbone. She looks ruined and beautiful and completely mine, and something in my chest tightens at the sight.
"You want me to—" She gestures vaguely with her bound hands.
"I want you to make coffee," I say. "There's a kettle and some grounds in the cupboard. Figure it out."
She sits up slowly, and I watch her test the rope around her wrists, the way she flexes her fingers. She doesn't ask me to untie her. I didn't expect her to. She just nods, swings her legs off the mattress, and stands, swaying slightly before she finds her balance.
"Where's the—"
"Main room. Through the door."
She pads past me, naked, her dark hair a mess, and I watch her go. There's something in the way she moves now, a looseness that wasn't there before. She's not walking like a captive. She's walking like someone who belongs here.
I follow her as far as the doorway, lean against the frame, and watch her fumble with the kettle. The rope makes her clumsy, and I hear her mutter something under her breath as she struggles with the lid.
"Need a hand?"
She glances back at me, a wry twist to her mouth. "I've got it."
I believe her. That's the thing. I actually believe her.
I leave her to it and cross the main room to where Elena lies on the floor.
She's awake. I can see it in the rigid line of her shoulders, the way she's gone still as a rabbit the moment I step into her field of vision. She's curled on her side, her bound wrists tucked against her chest, her eyes fixed on the wall like she's trying to disappear into it.
She heard us. Through the thin walls, she heard every sound Priya made, every word I said. I can see it in the flush on her cheeks, in the way her breath comes too fast, in the way she won't look at me.
I crouch down beside her. She flinches, a small, involuntary movement, and I watch her force herself to go still.
"Good morning, Darling."
She doesn't answer. Her jaw is tight, her eyes fixed on a point somewhere past my shoulder.
"I said good morning."
A pause. Then, barely audible: "Good morning, Sir."
The words come out scraped and hollow, and I feel a small, cold satisfaction settle in my chest. She's still fighting. I can see it in the set of her mouth, the way her fingers curl into her palms. But she's saying the words. She's learning.
"Get up," I say. "Follow me."
She doesn't move for a long moment. Then, slowly, she pushes herself upright, her bound hands braced against the floor, and I watch her rise to her knees. She doesn't look at me. She just waits, her head bowed, her breath shallow.
"I said follow me."
She crawls.
I watch her move across the rough pine floor, her knees scraping against the wood, her bound wrists held out in front of her like she's offering them to me. Her hair has come loose from its bun, falling in messy strands around her face, and I can see the faint marks on her wrists where the rope has chafed her skin.
She reaches the chair and stops, waiting.
I sit down, lean back, and look at her. She's kneeling at my feet, her head bowed, her shoulders trembling with the effort of holding herself still. She's wearing nothing but the rope and the bruises I've left on her skin, and I can see the goosebumps rising on her arms in the cold air.
I don't say anything. I just wait.
She knows what I want. I can see it in the way she hesitates, the way her eyes flick to my lap and then away. I can see the war on her face, the disgust and the shame and the hunger all tangled up together.
She presses her face against my bulge.
The contact is sudden, desperate, like she's been holding herself back and finally gave in. I feel her breath through the fabric, hot and uneven, and I hear a small, broken sound escape her lips—a whimper, half shame and half need.
I reach down, thread my fingers through her hair, and hold her there. She doesn't pull away. She presses closer, her nose against the outline of my cock, and I feel her shudder against me.
"Look at you," I murmur, and my voice comes out rough. "So eager this morning. Did you hear something you liked through the wall?"
She makes a sound—a denial, maybe, or a plea—but she doesn't pull away. Her mouth finds the shape of me through the fabric, and I feel her lips part, her tongue pressing against the cotton, tasting me through it.
"That's it," I say, my fingers tightening in her hair. "You know what you want. You're just too ashamed to say it."
She whimpers against me, and I feel the vibration of it through the fabric, the heat of her breath soaking through. She's pressing herself against me like she's starving, like she's been starving for days, and I feel my cock harden beneath her mouth, responding to her need before my mind has fully caught up.
"You're a mess, Darling," I say, and the words come out low, almost tender. "Look at you. My professor. My captive. Kneeling between my legs with your face pressed against my cock like a good little slut."
She makes a sound, high and broken, and I feel her body shudder against me. Her hands are clenched into fists at her sides, her knuckles white, and I know she's fighting herself, fighting the hunger that's pushing her forward even as the shame tries to hold her back.
"You want it," I say, and it's not a question. "You want to taste me. You want to swallow every drop and thank me for it. Don't you?"
She doesn't answer. She can't. Her mouth is pressed against me, her breath coming in ragged gasps, and I feel her nod against my thigh, a small, desperate movement.
"Say it."
She pulls back just enough to speak, her voice raw and shaking. "Yes."
"Yes what?"
"Yes, Sir." The words come out broken, scraped from somewhere deep in her throat. "Please. I want—" She stops, swallows, and I watch her fight for the words. "I want to taste you."
I reach down, hook my thumbs under the waistband of my boxers, and push them down. My cock springs free, hard and aching, and I hear her breath catch at the sight of it. She doesn't move. She just stares, her lips parted, her eyes dark with a hunger she can't hide.
"You can eat me," I say, and my voice is rough, almost a growl. "But you're going to do it with your mouth alone. No hands. You're going to take me down your throat like the desperate little slut you are, and you're going to thank me when you're done."
She looks at me, and for a moment I see the old Elena—the professor, the woman who corrected my equation in front of the whole class, the one who threatened me with the police. I see the hatred in her eyes, the defiance, the fight.
Then she leans forward and takes me in her mouth.
The heat of her is overwhelming, her lips sliding down my shaft, her tongue flat against the underside of my cock. She takes me deep, deeper than I expected, her throat opening for me, and I feel the tight, wet grip of her swallowing around me.
"Fuck," I breathe, my head falling back.
She doesn't stop. She pulls back, drags her lips up my length, and then pushes forward again, taking me all the way to the root. Her nose presses against my pelvis, and I feel her throat convulse around the head of my cock, a small, desperate sound escaping her.
She's facefucking herself on me.
I watch her, my fingers tangled in her hair, and I see the tears tracking down her cheeks, the flush on her skin, the desperate, hungry movements of her mouth. She's crying and she's swallowing me like she's been starving for it, and the combination of it—the shame and the need, the hatred and the hunger—makes my cock throb inside her throat.
"That's it," I murmur, my voice thick. "Take it all. Deeper. You can do better than that."
She moans around me, the vibration running through my cock, and she pushes deeper, her throat opening, her nose pressed against my skin. I feel her gag, a small, reflexive clench, and then she forces herself to relax, to take me deeper still.
"Good girl," I say, and I feel her shudder at the words. "Such a good little slut for me. My professor, deepthroating my cock like she was born for it."
She pulls back, gasping, a string of saliva connecting her lips to my cock, and she looks up at me. Her eyes are red, her lips swollen, her face wet with tears and spit, and she's looking at me like she hates me and needs me in equal measure.
"Please," she whispers, and I don't know if she's begging me to stop or to never stop.
I tighten my grip in her hair and push her back down.
She takes me to the root, her throat convulsing around me, and I hold her there, feeling the desperate flutter of her pulse through her throat. She doesn't fight. She doesn't pull away. She just stays there, her nose pressed against my pelvis, her body trembling, waiting for me to decide what happens next.
"You're going to swallow every drop," I say, my voice low and rough. "And you're going to thank me for it. Do you understand?"
She can't answer. Her mouth is full. But I feel her nod against me, a small, desperate movement, and I feel the hunger in it, the need that's been building in her since the moment I took her glasses.
I begin to move.
I fuck her mouth slowly, deeply, each stroke pushing her throat open, and I watch her face as I do it—the tears, the flush, the desperate, hungry movements of her lips. She's making sounds, small, broken noises that vibrate through my cock, and I feel the pressure building in my gut, the familiar, inevitable tightening.
"Look at you," I breathe. "My professor. My captive. My little cockslut. You're so hungry for it, aren't you? You'd do anything for a taste."
She moans around me, and I feel her hands clench into fists at her sides, her bound wrists straining against the rope. She's not fighting me. She's fighting herself, fighting the part of her that wants this, that craves this, that's been starving for it since the first day I brought her here.
I feel myself start to come, the pressure building to a peak, and I grip her hair tighter, holding her in place.
"Swallow it," I say, my voice a growl. "Every drop. Don't waste a single bit."
I come in her mouth, hot and thick, and I feel her throat work around me, swallowing, taking everything I give her. She doesn't pull away. She doesn't gag. She just takes it, her eyes closed, her body trembling, and I watch the tears slip down her cheeks as she swallows me down.
When I finally pull out, she's gasping, her lips swollen, a thin trail of spit and cum connecting her mouth to my cock. She looks up at me, her eyes red, her face wet, and I see the shame in them, the disgust, the hunger that's still there, burning beneath the surface.
"Thank you," she whispers, and the words come out broken, scraped from somewhere deep in her throat. "Thank you, Sir."
I reach down, brush a strand of hair from her face, and I feel her flinch at my touch. She doesn't pull away. She just sits there, kneeling between my legs, her mouth red and swollen, her eyes fixed on the floor.
From the kitchen, I hear the sound of the kettle whistling, and I feel a smile tug at the corner of my mouth.
"Good girl," I say, and I watch her shiver at the words. "Now go help Priya with the coffee."
I watch her go. Elena rises from her knees like the motion costs her something, her bound hands braced against the floor before she finds her feet. She doesn't look at me. She pads toward the kitchen with the same stiff, defeated gait she's had since day one, but there's something different in the set of her shoulders now—something that wasn't there before I put my cock in her mouth and watched her swallow.
I stand, pull my boxers up, and follow her as far as the doorway.
Priya's at the stove, the kettle already steaming, and she's managed to work the lid off a tin of grounds with her bound hands. She glances up when Elena enters, and for a moment the two of them just look at each other—the professor and the student, both naked, both tied, both mine. The air in the kitchen goes thick with something I can't name.
"Help her with the coffee," I say, and Elena's spine stiffens at the order.
She doesn't argue. She moves to the counter, her bound hands reaching for the tin, and Priya steps aside to give her room. They work in silence, the only sound the hiss of the kettle and the clink of ceramic mugs, two women who should hate each other finding a rhythm I didn't ask for and don't quite understand.
I lean against the doorframe and watch them. There's something almost domestic about it—the morning light cutting through the grimy window, the steam rising from the kettle, the two of them moving around each other with a quiet efficiency that feels practiced. Like they've done this before. Like they've been doing this for years instead of days.
"I'm going out," I say.
Priya turns, the mug in her bound hands, her dark eyes finding mine. "Where?"
"To get Kira."
Something flickers across her face—not jealousy, not quite. Something softer. "Bring her safe."
It's not a question. It's a request, wrapped in the shape of a statement, and I feel the weight of it settle in my chest. She's not asking me to spare Kira. She's asking me to bring her into the fold the way she was brought—rough hands and bruising grip and the slow, patient breaking of everything she thought she was.
"I'll be back before noon."
I cross to the door, grab my jacket from the hook by the entrance, and shrug it on. The morning air hits me when I pull the door open, cold and sharp, carrying the smell of pine and damp earth. I step out onto the porch, the wood groaning beneath my boots, and I'm halfway to the car when I hear her voice behind me.
"Goodbye, Baby."
I stop. Turn.
Priya's standing in the doorway, naked, her bound wrists held in front of her like an offering, a smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. The morning light catches the gold in her eyes, and for a moment she looks less like a captive and more like a woman seeing her husband off to work.
"Goodbye, Baby," she says again, and the words wrap around me, warm and unexpected.
I don't know what to do with that. I don't know what to do with her. She called me hers last night, and I let her, and now she's standing in the doorway of a cabin where I keep a physics professor tied to the floor, smiling at me like I'm the best thing that ever happened to her.
I don't smile back. But I feel something in my chest crack open, just a little, and I let it happen.
I get in the car.
The engine turns over with a low growl, and I pull away from the cabin, the gravel crunching beneath the tires. The road is empty, the trees pressing close on either side, and I let my mind drift to Kira as the cabin shrinks in the rearview mirror.
She's probably getting ready for class. I know her schedule—I've been watching her long enough to know when she leaves, when she comes back, when she's alone. She'll be in her bedroom, maybe in front of the mirror, maybe half-dressed, and she won't hear me come in because I never knock and I never announce myself.
I like that. The way she startles. The way her breath catches and her eyes go wide, like she's seen a ghost. I like the way she's learned to go still instead of fighting, the way she's learned to wait for me to tell her what to do next.
The drive takes twenty minutes. Kira's house sits at the end of a quiet street, a modest two-story with a neat lawn and a car in the driveway that tells me she hasn't left yet. I park behind it, kill the engine, and sit for a moment, listening to the tick of the cooling motor.
Then I get out and let myself in through the front door.
The house is quiet. A clock ticks somewhere, and I can hear the faint hum of a shower running upstairs. I close the door behind me, soft, and climb the stairs, my boots silent on the carpet.
Her bedroom door is ajar. I push it open.
She's standing in front of her closet, half-turned, a blouse in her hands. She's wearing a bra and a skirt, her platinum bob still damp from the shower, and she's so focused on the blouse that she doesn't hear me until I'm already in the room.
She spins. Her eyes go wide, her mouth opening on a startled sound that she swallows before it can escape. The blouse drops from her fingers, and she takes a half-step back, her shoulder blades hitting the closet door.
"Justin—"
"Kira."
I cross the room, slow, and I watch her track me with those ice-blue eyes. She doesn't run. She doesn't scream. She's learned, just like I knew she would. She stands there, pressed against the closet door, her breath coming fast, her hands clenched at her sides.
I reach her. I cup her cheek.
Her skin is warm from the shower, and I feel the faint heat of the mark I left there yesterday—the bruise blooming beneath my palm, the proof of what I did to her. She flinches at my touch, a small, involuntary movement, and then she forces herself to go still, her eyes fixed on mine.
"You're going to finish getting dressed," I say, my voice low. "Then we're going to drive to see your mother."
Her brow furrows. "My—"
"You're skipping class today."
Her mouth opens, a protest forming on her lips—I can see it in the set of her jaw, the way her eyes sharpen. She's a law student. She's the student council president. She doesn't skip class for anyone, least of all me.
I press my finger to her lips.
She stops. Her mouth closes, the protest dying unspoken, and I watch the fight drain out of her eyes, replaced by something softer, something that looks almost like relief.
"Finish dressing," I say, and I step back, giving her room.
She bends to pick up the blouse, her movements slow, deliberate. I watch her shrug it on, her fingers fumbling with the buttons, and I don't help her. I just watch. She's careful not to meet my eyes, but I can see the flush rising on her cheeks, the way her hands tremble as she works the last button.
"Shoes," I say.
She steps into a pair of flats by the bed, and then she stands there, fully dressed, waiting. Her hands are clasped in front of her, her eyes on the floor, and she looks less like the untouchable student council president and more like a schoolgirl waiting for permission to speak.
"Let's go," I say.
She follows me down the stairs, out the front door, and across the driveway to the car. She doesn't ask where we're going. She doesn't ask why. She just gets in the passenger seat, buckles her seatbelt, and stares out the window as I pull away from the curb.
The drive to the cabin is longer than the drive from campus. The roads get narrower, the trees get denser, and I can feel the tension building in her with every mile—the way her fingers grip the edge of the seat, the way her breath comes a little faster when the pavement turns to gravel.
"Where are we going?" she finally asks, her voice small.
"Somewhere safe."
She turns to look at me, and I can see the fear in her eyes, the uncertainty. "Is my mother—"
"She's fine."
"You said we were going to see her."
"We are."
The cabin comes into view through the trees, and I hear her breath catch. It's not much to look at—a decaying structure with a sagging porch and grimy windows—but I can feel her understanding something in the way she goes still beside me.
I kill the engine. The silence rushes in.
"Things are going to change when you go inside," I say, and I turn to face her. Her eyes are wide, fixed on mine, and I can see the fear there, the uncertainty, the desperate need to understand. "But everything's going to be alright. Do you understand?"
She doesn't answer.
"Do you understand?" I repeat, and something in my voice makes her flinch.
"Yes," she whispers.
"Yes what?"
She swallows. Her eyes drop to her lap, her voice barely audible. "Yes, Daddy."
The word lands in the silence, soft and broken, and I feel something settle in my chest. She's learning. They're all learning.
"Good girl," I say, and I watch her shiver at the words. "Now get out of the car."
She does. She opens the door and steps out onto the gravel, her flats crunching against the stones, and I follow her, taking her hand as we walk toward the cabin. The door is still open from when I left, and I can see Priya standing in the doorway, a mug in her bound hands, a smile on her face.
Behind her, in the dim light of the main room, I can see Elena kneeling on the floor, her head bowed, waiting.
Kira stops at the threshold. She's looking at Priya, at the rope around her wrists, at the nakedness of her, and I can see the questions forming on her lips—the fear, the confusion, the dawning horror of what she's walked into.
I put my hand on the small of her back and push her forward.
"Welcome home," I say.
Kira stumbles forward, her flats catching on the threshold, and I catch her elbow before she can fall. She rights herself, but she doesn't pull away from my grip. Her eyes are fixed on Priya, on the rope, on the way Priya stands there naked and smiling like this is the most natural thing in the world.
"You," Kira breathes, and there's recognition in her voice. "You're in my economics class."
Priya's smile doesn't waver. "And you're the student council president who never looks at anyone below her."
The words land like a slap. Kira's mouth opens, but nothing comes out, and I watch the war play out across her face—the indignation of a woman used to being in control, warring with the dawning comprehension of where she is and what's happened to her.
"Kira." Elena's voice cuts through the silence, soft and hoarse from the kitchen doorway. She's standing there now, still in her blouse from earlier, her bound hands clasped in front of her. Her eyes are on her daughter, and there's something in them I haven't seen before—something that looks almost like desperation.
Kira turns. She sees her mother, and the breath goes out of her like she's been punched. "Mom."
The word is small, broken. She takes a step toward Elena, and I let her go. I want to see what she does. I want to see if she runs to her mother, if she tries to untie her, if she fights. I want to see the exact moment she understands that there's nowhere to run to.
She stops halfway across the room. Her hands hang at her sides, and I watch them curl into fists, then uncurl. She's looking at Elena's bound wrists, at the rope marks, at the way her mother stands with her head bowed like a beaten animal.
"What did you do to her?" Kira's voice is quiet, but there's steel in it. She turns to face me, and for a moment she's not the girl who called me Daddy in the car. She's the student council president, the debater, the woman who's never lost an argument in her life.
"I didn't do anything she didn't earn," I say.
Kira's jaw tightens. "She's my mother."
"And now she's mine too."
The words hang in the air, and I watch them land. I watch the fight drain out of her, slow, like water finding a crack in a dam. She looks at Priya again, at the rope, at the smile. She looks at her mother, at the bowed head, the bound hands. She looks at me, and I can see her calculating—the way she always calculates—looking for the angle, the leverage, the way out.
There isn't one.
"I don't understand," she says, and her voice cracks on the last word.
"You don't have to understand," I tell her. "You just have to obey."
I cross to her, slow, and I see her flinch when I raise my hand. But I don't hit her. I cup her chin, tilting her face up to meet mine, and I hold her gaze until I see the fight leave her eyes.
"You're going to kneel now," I say, "and you're going to thank me for bringing you here."
She stares at me. I can feel her trembling beneath my hand, the war still raging inside her. But she's learned. She's learned what happens when she fights.
She sinks to her knees on the rough pine floor.
"Thank you," she whispers, "for bringing me here."
"Good girl." I release her chin and step back. "Now crawl to your mother."
She does. I watch her cross the room on hands and knees, her platinum bob brushing the floor, her skirt riding up her thighs. She stops at Elena's feet, and I see Elena's face crumple—the horror, the shame, the grief of watching her daughter reduced to the same animal state she's been forced into.
"Mom," Kira whispers, and her voice breaks.
Elena doesn't answer. She can't. But I see her bound hands reach out, trembling, and brush her daughter's hair. It's the smallest gesture, the most human thing I've seen from her in days, and it makes something twist in my chest.
I don't like it.
"Enough," I say, and they both go still. "Priya, bring the coffee."
Priya moves, her bare feet silent on the floor, and sets the mug down on the low table by the wall. She kneels beside it without being told, her bound hands resting in her lap, and I feel a flicker of pride. She's learning. They're all learning.
"Kira," I say, and she looks up at me from the floor, her eyes red-rimmed but dry. "You're going to stay here with your mother and Priya while I go back to campus. You're going to help them. You're going to do whatever they need."
Her brow furrows. "You're leaving?"
"I have a class." I let the words hang. "And you have a mother who's been waiting eight days for someone to take care of her."
I see the realization dawn on her face—the slow, horrible understanding that this is her life now, that she's not going back to her house or her classes or her debates. She's going to stay here, in this decaying cabin, with her mother and the woman from her economics class, and she's going to learn to kneel.
"Daddy," she says, and the word sounds different now—smaller, more broken. "Please."
I crouch in front of her. I cup her cheek again, feeling the bruise beneath my palm, and I watch her lean into the touch despite herself.
"You're going to be fine," I tell her. "You're going to learn what your mother learned. You're going to learn what Priya learned. And when I come back, you're going to thank me for it."
I stand. I look at the three of them—Elena kneeling on the floor, Kira at her feet, Priya by the table—and I feel something settle in my chest. A family. Mine.
"I'll be back by evening," I say, and I turn toward the door.
Behind me, I hear Kira's voice, small and broken: "Goodbye, Daddy."
I don't turn around. But I smile.
The smile stays on my face as I step out onto the porch, letting the cabin door fall shut behind me. The morning air is cold and sharp, and I breathe it in deep, feeling the weight of the last hour settle into my bones. Three of them in there now. Three women who belong to me, who kneel when I tell them to, who say thank you when I give them crumbs.
I walk to the truck, gravel crunching under my boots, and I don't look back. I don't need to. I know exactly what I'll find when I return—Elena kneeling on the floor with her bound hands in her lap, Kira at her feet, Priya by the table with that soft smile she's been wearing since she told me she loves me.
My family.
The drive to campus is long enough to let my mind wander, and it drifts to the files in my bag. Fourteen names. Fourteen secrets. I've used three so far—Elena's leave, Kira's compliance, and the leverage that keeps the director in line. Eleven more, waiting. Leverage I haven't even needed yet.
The economics building looms ahead, all glass and steel, and I park the truck in the lot like I belong here. Like I'm just another student showing up for a Tuesday lecture. I grab my bag and head inside, nodding at a girl I don't recognize who smiles at me like she knows me. Maybe she does. Maybe she's seen me in the hallways, the quiet kid who never says much, who's suddenly not so quiet anymore.
Professor Marchetti is already at the podium when I slide into my seat, and she glances up, tucking a strand of dark hair behind her ear. She's wearing that oversized cardigan again, the one that makes her look like a graduate student who wandered into the wrong room. She gives me a small nod, and I nod back.
The lecture starts. Something about market equilibrium, supply curves, elasticity. I take notes out of habit, my pen moving across the page, but my mind is elsewhere. It's in the cabin, with the three of them. It's on the files in my bag. It's on the director, and the way she'll look when I walk into her office next.
Twenty minutes in, the door at the back of the lecture hall opens.
It's not a student. It's not a TA. It's Evelyn Rutherford, the director of the university, in her tailored navy suit and her heels that click against the floor like a metronome counting down. She doesn't look at anyone else. Her eyes find me, and they stay on me as she walks down the aisle toward my row.
The room goes quiet. Even Professor Marchetti stops mid-sentence, her hand frozen in the air, her mouth slightly open.
"Mr. Hartley," Evelyn says, and her voice is clipped, professional, the voice she uses in board meetings. "I need you to come with me."
Every head in the room turns. I feel the weight of their stares, the curiosity, the speculation. The quiet kid who never says anything, being pulled out of class by the director herself. It must be serious. It must be something big.
I close my notebook. I stand. I don't look at anyone as I walk up the aisle toward her, but I can feel the room watching, and I let myself enjoy it. Let them wonder. Let them talk.
"Of course," I say, and my voice is calm, steady. "Lead the way."
She turns, and I follow her out of the lecture hall, down the corridor, past the faculty offices, until we reach the door with her name on it. DIRECTOR EVELYN RUTHERFORD. She unlocks it and steps inside, and I follow her in, closing the door behind me.
Her office is exactly like I remembered —polished, expensive, a desk the size of a boat, bookshelves lined with leather-bound volumes she's probably never opened. The blinds are half-drawn, casting stripes of light across the carpet. It smells like lavender and old paper.
She walks around her desk, turning to face me, and I see her mouth open, ready to begin whatever speech she's prepared.
I don't let her get a word out.
I cross the room in three steps, and I slap her across the face.
Hard.
Her head snaps to the side, and the force of the blow sends her stumbling backward. Her heel catches on the edge of the rug, and she goes down, crashing onto the carpet with a muffled cry. Her hand flies to her cheek, and she stares up at me, shock and outrage warring on her face.
"What—" she starts, but I don't let her finish.
I grab a fistful of her hair—that neat, controlled bob—and I yank her forward, forcing her onto her knees. She gasps, her hands flying up to claw at my wrist, but I hold her there, her head tilted back, her eyes wide and furious.
"You don't get to disturb me without consequence," I say, and my voice is low, calm, the voice I use when I'm in control. "You don't get to pull me out of class like I'm a child who's been called to the principal's office."
"I am the director of this university—" she begins, and I slap her again.
The sound echoes in the quiet office. Her head whips to the side, and this time she doesn't try to get up. She just kneels there, breathing hard, her hand pressed to her cheek, her eyes burning with hatred.
"You're going to learn something," I tell her. "You're going to learn that I'm not a student you can summon. I'm not a problem you can manage. I'm the one holding the files."
Her breath catches. I see the recognition in her eyes, the sudden flash of fear beneath the anger. She knows what I'm talking about. She knows the fourteen files, the secrets, the leverage I have on her. She knows she's not in control here.
"The files," she whispers, and her voice is hoarse, broken.
"The files," I confirm. I tighten my grip on her hair, pulling her head back further, and I watch her face contort with pain. "Now. What did you want?"
She swallows. Her hands are trembling, and I can see her fighting to compose herself, to find the director's voice she's used to wielding. It doesn't come. All that comes out is a shaky breath.
"Priya," she says. "Priya Sharma. She's missing. She was last seen with you."
I hold her gaze. I don't blink. "Priya is fine."
"She hasn't been to class in three days. Her roommate says she never came home."
"She's fine," I repeat, and my voice doesn't waver. "She's exactly where she wants to be."
Evelyn's brow furrows. I can see her trying to make sense of my words, trying to find the angle, the leverage, the way out. She's a smart woman. She's been running this university for years, and she's used to being the one who holds the power.
Not anymore.
I let go of her hair, and she slumps forward, catching herself on her hands. She stays there, kneeling on the carpet, her head bowed, her breath coming in ragged gasps. I watch her for a moment, enjoying the sight of her brought low, and then I walk around her desk and sit in her chair.
It's a good chair. Leather, high-backed, the kind of chair that makes you feel like you own the world. I lean back in it, letting the moment stretch, and then I tap the armrest twice.
"Crawl," I say.
She looks up at me, and I see the war on her face—the pride, the fury, the desperate need to resist. She's not like the others. She hasn't been broken. She's still fighting, still clawing for control.
"I am the director of this university," she says, and her voice is steadier now, steel creeping back into it. "You can't—"
I stand. I walk around the desk, slow, deliberate, and I crouch in front of her. I cup her cheek with my hand, the way I did with Kira, and she flinches away, her whole body recoiling from my touch.
"Get your hands off me," she says, and the words are sharp, venomous.
I don't take my hand away. I hold her gaze, my palm against her cheek, feeling the heat of her skin, the trembling beneath it. She hates this. I can see it in her eyes, the way she wants to bite me, to scratch me, to claw her way free.
"From now on," I say, "you're going to treat me with respect. You're going to remember who holds the files, who holds the power, who decides what happens next." I squeeze her jaw, just enough to make her wince. "And every time I'm in this office, you're going to take your place under this desk. Kneeling. Where you belong."
Her eyes widen. I see the horror there, the dawning comprehension of what I'm asking, what I'm demanding. She's the director of this university. She's spent years building her power, her reputation, her carefully controlled image. And I'm telling her to kneel under her own desk like a dog.
"No," she breathes.
"Yes," I say. "You'll do it because I say so. You'll do it because if you don't, I'll release those files, and everything you've built will come crashing down around you." I lean closer, my mouth inches from her ear. "You'll do it because you have no other choice."
She's shaking now. I can feel it, the fine tremor running through her body, the way her breath hitches in her throat. She's still fighting, still trying to find a way out, but there isn't one. There never was.
I stand, releasing her jaw, and I walk back around the desk. I sit in her chair, lean back, and look at her over the polished surface of the desk.
"Crawl," I say again.
She stares at me. Her cheek is red where I slapped her, and her hair is mussed, falling out of its neat bob. She looks nothing like the director who walked into the lecture hall twenty minutes ago. She looks like a woman who's just learned what it means to be powerless.
She drops to her hands and knees.
I watch her crawl across the carpet, slow, reluctant, each movement a small surrender. She reaches the desk, and she stops, her head bowed, her hands resting on the floor in front of her.
"Under," I say.
She doesn't move for a long moment. I can see her shoulders shaking, and I wonder if she's crying. I don't care if she is. I watch her lower herself, sliding under the desk until she's hidden from view, her body pressed against the wood, her breath coming in shallow gasps.
I lean back in her chair. I let the silence stretch.
Then I reach down, and I rest my hand on top of her head, feeling her flinch beneath my touch.
"Good girl," I say.
She doesn't answer. She doesn't move. She just kneels there, under her own desk, in her own office, and I feel the power settle over me like a blanket.
I have three women in a cabin. I have a director kneeling at my feet. I have fourteen files of secrets, waiting to be used.
And I'm just getting started.
The silence stretches between us, thick as honey. Her breath is a shallow rhythm beneath the desk, and I can hear the faint rustle of her pantyhose as she shifts her weight on the carpet. She's waiting for something—permission to speak, permission to move, permission to exist. I let her wait.
I lean back in her chair, the leather creaking beneath me, and I let my eyes drift around her office. The bookshelves, the diplomas, the framed photo of her husband on the corner of the desk—a man who looks like he's spent his whole life being told what to do and never once questioned it. She married him for security. I can see it in the way they stand in that photo, six inches apart, two strangers who share a last name.
My fingers find the edge of her desk, tracing the polished wood. There's a pen holder, a stack of papers, a paperweight shaped like a globe. Everything in this room says *control*. Everything in this room says *I am someone who matters*.
And she's under my hand, hidden from view, kneeling on the carpet like a dog.
"Evelyn," I say, and the name rolls off my tongue like I own it. "I want you to understand something."
She doesn't answer. I feel her tense beneath my palm, her head bowed, her shoulders rigid.
"I could ruin you," I continue. "I could walk out of this office, drive to the nearest news station, and hand them the files. I could make a few phone calls that would end your career before the sun goes down. I could do it right now, and there's nothing you could do to stop me."
A small sound escapes her—a whimper, barely audible, swallowed almost as soon as it leaves her throat.
"But I'm not going to do that," I say. "Not because I'm merciful. Not because I have a conscience. Because you're more useful to me alive and in this chair, pretending to run this university while I pull the strings."
I slide my hand from her head to her chin, tilting her face up. She resists for a moment, then yields, her eyes meeting mine from beneath the desk. There's hatred there, burning bright and hot, but there's something else too. Fear. The kind of fear that comes from knowing you're trapped and there's no way out.
"Do you understand?" I ask.
She holds my gaze for a long moment. I can see her jaw working, the muscles tensing as she fights the words. She doesn't want to say them. She's spent her whole life being the one who gives orders, not the one who takes them.
"Yes," she says finally, and the word comes out like it's been dragged from her throat.
"Yes, what?"
Her eyes flash. For a moment, I think she's going to fight back, going to spit something venomous at me, going to claw her way out from under this desk and scream for help. But then the fight drains out of her, replaced by something hollow and resigned.
"Yes, sir," she whispers.
The words hang in the air between us, and I feel a thrill run through me, sharp and electric. Another one. Another woman who's learned her place.
"Good girl," I say. "Now. You said Priya has a roommate who's worried. Who else is asking questions?"
She blinks, caught off guard by the shift in topic. "I—I don't know. Her roommate came to me. She said Priya missed class, missed a group meeting. She said Priya was last seen with you."
"And what did you tell her?"
"I told her I would look into it." She swallows. "I told her not to worry."
"Good. Keep it that way." I release her chin and lean back in her chair. "Priya is fine. She's safe. She's exactly where she wants to be. And if anyone else comes asking, you're going to tell them the same thing."
"And if they don't believe me?"
"They will," I say. "Because you're the director. You're the one they trust. You're the one who's supposed to have all the answers." I let a smile creep onto my face. "And you do, don't you? You have all the answers."
She doesn't respond. She just kneels there, under the desk, her hands resting on her thighs, her head bowed. I can see the rise and fall of her shoulders, the way her breath comes in shallow, uneven gasps. She's not crying. Not yet. But she's close.
I reach down and run my fingers through her hair, slow, almost gentle. She flinches, her whole body recoiling from my touch, and I feel a flicker of satisfaction. She's still fighting. Still disgusted by me. Good. That makes it better.
"You're going to learn to like this," I tell her. "You're going to learn to kneel without being told. You're going to learn to thank me for the privilege of being under my hand." I pause, letting the words sink in. "And when I walk into this office, you're going to be waiting for me."
She doesn't answer. She doesn't move. She just kneels there, hidden beneath her own desk, in her own office, and I feel the power settle over me like a second skin.
I stand, adjusting my shirt. I look down at her one last time, at the top of her head, at the way her shoulders curve inward, at the small, defeated slump of her body.
"I'll be back," I say. "And when I am, I expect to find you exactly where I left you."
I walk to the door, and I pause with my hand on the handle. I look back at the desk, at the space where she's hidden, and I let the silence stretch.
"Good girl," I say again, and then I open the door and step out into the hallway.
