1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Information you provide

The information we collect depends on how you use NovelX. It may include:

• Account information, such as email address, username, display name, and authentication details.
• Creative content, such as story ideas, prompts, stories, chapters, characters, images, audio, feedback, and preferences you save or generate.
• Support information, such as messages you send to us, bug reports, and other details you choose to include.
• Website billing information needed to process web purchases, such as payment status, plan, invoice, checkout, and provider reference details.

Information collected automatically

When you use our Services, we may automatically collect technical and usage information, including IP address, device type, browser or app information, operating system, referring URLs, pages or features used, timestamps, diagnostic logs, and general location inferred from IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location unless a future feature asks for it and you grant permission.

Information from third parties

We may receive information from service providers that help operate NovelX, including authentication providers, payment processors, Apple, RevenueCat, infrastructure providers, analytics tools, and customer support or email tools.

2. HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?

We use personal information to:

• Create, authenticate, and maintain your account.
• Provide AI writing, character, image, audio, library, and publishing features.
• Save and sync your stories, generated media, preferences, and subscription access across devices.
• Process web purchases and recognize iOS App Store subscription access.
• Provide customer support, respond to feedback, and troubleshoot issues.
• Send service messages, such as account, security, subscription, policy, or product updates.
• Protect the Services, prevent fraud or abuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with law.
• Understand and improve reliability, performance, safety, and product quality.

3. SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PAYMENTS

For website purchases, payment providers process payment details and provide us with the information needed to manage your subscription, such as plan, status, amount, currency, renewal period, cancellation state, provider identifiers, and limited card display details where applicable. We do not use this information for unrelated marketing sharing.

For iOS app purchases, Apple processes your payment through the App Store. RevenueCat helps us manage mobile subscription entitlement status. We may receive subscription information such as product ID, plan, store, purchase timestamp, expiration date, renewal status, cancellation status, billing issue status, sandbox status, and RevenueCat user identifiers. We do not receive your full Apple payment card number or App Store payment credentials.

App Store subscriptions are managed through your Apple Account and App Store subscription settings. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.

4. WHEN DO WE SHARE INFORMATION?

We share information only as needed to operate, secure, and improve NovelX, or where required by law. This may include sharing with:

• Infrastructure, database, hosting, storage, and security providers.
• AI and media generation providers that process prompts and content to provide requested features.
• Authentication providers if you choose a third-party login option.
• Payment and subscription providers, including Apple and RevenueCat for iOS subscriptions.
• Analytics and customer communication providers for website operations, support, and product improvement.
• Law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties where legally required or necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not sell your personal information or share your private creative content with data brokers.

5. IOS APP AND MARKETING SHARING

For the NovelX iOS app, we do not share personal information, creative content, subscription status, or device-level identifiers with third-party advertising networks, data brokers, or marketing platforms for cross-app tracking, targeted advertising, or advertising measurement.

Information received from Apple and RevenueCat for iOS subscriptions is used to provide paid access, prevent fraud, resolve support issues, reconcile provider records, and comply with legal or accounting obligations.

6. COOKIES, ANALYTICS, AND WEBSITE TRACKING

Our websites may use cookies, local storage, analytics tools, conversion measurement tools, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, protect the service, measure performance, understand how the website is used, and evaluate website marketing campaigns.

These website tools may include analytics, email communication, and advertising measurement services. The iOS app treatment is different: as described above, we do not share iOS app data with advertising networks or marketing platforms for cross-app tracking or targeted advertising.

Browser settings may allow you to block or delete cookies. Some website features may not work correctly without essential cookies.

7. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP INFORMATION?

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain your account, preserve your saved creative work, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and maintain security.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it. Limited operational logs, backup copies, or provider records may remain for a short period until they expire under normal retention cycles.

8. ACCOUNT DELETION

You can delete your account from the account management area in NovelX where available, or contact us at hello@novelx.ai for help.

Account deletion is intended to permanently remove your account, login sessions, stories, chapters, characters, generated images, generated audio, and associated creative data from active NovelX systems.

We may retain or anonymize limited records needed for billing, refunds, fraud prevention, tax and accounting obligations, provider reconciliation, legal compliance, security, and deletion audit logs. Deleting your NovelX account may not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription; manage App Store subscriptions through your Apple Account settings.

9. HOW DO WE KEEP INFORMATION SAFE?

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, secure infrastructure, encryption in transit where appropriate, provider security controls, and monitoring for abuse or unauthorized access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information with care.

10. MINORS

NovelX is intended for adults who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 or permit anyone under 18 to use the Services.

11. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
