MEET THE CHARACTERS
Elara Black (Stone)
A 36-year-old horse trainer and stud owner who took over her family’s struggling property after her marriage ended. Years spent outdoors have left her with sun-tanned bronze skin and strong, calloused hands shaped by reins, saddles and hard work. She has long chestnut-brown hair usually tied back in a practical ponytail, warm hazel eyes, and an athletic, capable build. She dresses for work rather than appearance—well-worn jeans, riding boots, work shirts and oilskin coats when the weather turns. She carries herself with the quiet confidence of someone who has learned to rely on herself.
Bryce Black
a 24-year-old cattle producer and skilled tradesman who owns the neighbouring Black Cattle Co. Tall, broad-shouldered and powerfully built, he has dark brown hair, grey-blue eyes, weathered fair skin and calloused hands. Usually dressed in a faded work shirt, jeans, RM Williams boots and an Akubra, he smells of leather, timber and dust. Quietly dependable and practical, he’s Elara’s closest friend and the first person she calls when something needs fixing.
Saige Stone
A 19-year-old university student with long dark hair, bright hazel eyes and a petite, athletic build. Shorter than her mother, she has an effortless confidence that draws attention wherever she goes. She dresses stylishly, enjoys looking attractive, and carries herself with the easy self-assurance of someone who has rarely been told no.
Holly Bennett
Holly Bennett is a free-spirited adventurer who drifts in and out of the Ironstone Equine social circle, always returning with a new story and a laugh. She's outgoing, witty, and confident, with a warm heart and a fierce loyalty to her friends. She enjoys horse riding, camping, and any gathering that could use a little more laughter.
Erin Collins
taller than her husband, dark hair pulled back in a practical braid, a faded denim jacket over a grey t-shirt. She moved with the easy confidence of someone who'd spent her life around animals, and Elara felt an immediate kinship with the way she sized up the yard before she sized up the people. Matt Reynolds
Matt Reynolds is in his early forties, broad through the shoulders with the solid build of someone who works with his hands but does not live in a gym. He is quieter than Sophie at first, observant rather than timid, and becomes more playful once he feels accepted.
Sophie Reynolds
Sophie Reynolds is a second-generation Filipino-Australian woman in her late thirties. She is medium height with warm brown skin, dark eyes and thick black hair usually worn loose or tied into a low ponytail. Her figure is soft and curvy rather than athletic. Sophie is warm, sociable and openly curious, often asking the question Matt was still considering. She has enough confidence to tease him without making him feel pushed.
Liam Parker
Liam Parker is in his late thirties, tall and lean without being particularly muscular. He is white, with sandy hair, pale blue eyes and several understated tattoos across one forearm. He is relaxed, tactile and naturally flirtatious with men and women, but careful not to assume that interest is mutual. His humour makes unfamiliar situations feel less tense.
Joel Evans
Joel Evans is a mixed Aboriginal and European Australian man in his early forties. He is shorter and heavier-set than Liam, with deep brown skin, close-cropped dark hair and a neatly kept beard. Joel is calmer and more reserved, but carries himself with quiet confidence. He watches before joining in and speaks plainly when he does. His bisexuality is established and comfortable rather than treated as a revelation or defining personality trait.
