Chapter 2

First early morning. Nadine can’t stop thinking about sex. She does not think straight anymore for desire. She waits until Sara left for work early in the morning and sneaks into Jim‘s room. Jim wakes up, stares at Nadine. Nadine undresses in front of him, and Jim ejaculates in his pants untouched. Nadine calm him down, Jim‘s penis erects some minutes later again and the have simple missionary sex, which leaves Nadine half satisfied. She leaves the room promising Jim to teach him to become a perfect lover.

The house had gone quiet hours ago, but sleep hadn't come. Nadine lay on her back in the guest bed, the thin quilt tangled around her legs, staring at a ceiling she couldn't see in the dark. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw him again — the way his throat worked when he swallowed, the way his gaze kept snagging on her chest and then fleeing like a burned hand. She'd poured him wine she shouldn't have, let her sundress gape like an invitation, and watched him struggle to breathe through it.

And now he was up there. One floor above her. Lying in his bed, probably in nothing but boxers or whatever nineteen-year-old boys slept in, his hand probably wrapped around the same ache she was trying to ignore between her own thighs.

She shifted on the mattress, the springs complaining beneath her. Her fingers found the waistband of her shorts again, traced the edge of the fabric, dipped lower. She was wet. Had been since dinner, since the moment she'd watched his eyes go wide and dark and helpless. She pressed her palm against herself through the cotton, a small, desperate pressure, and bit her lip against the sound that wanted out.

It wasn't enough. She knew it wasn't going to be enough. Her hand moved faster, harder, but her mind kept slipping off the edge of it, kept circling back to the same image — his hand, his mouth, his body, all of it untouched and waiting. She could teach him. She could be the one who showed him what it felt like to be wanted, what to do with all that hunger.

The thought made her breath catch. It was reckless. It was insane. He was nineteen and her best friend's son and she should be thinking about her photography, about the light on the lake at dawn, about anything except the way his hips had pressed against the table when he'd stood up too fast.

But she wasn't thinking about any of that. She was thinking about the way he'd looked at her like she was the answer to a question he didn't know how to ask.

She pulled her hand out of her shorts and rolled onto her side, facing the door. The hallway beyond was dark, the house breathing around her in its late-night stillness. Somewhere upstairs, a floorboard creaked — his room, his weight shifting on the bed frame. She imagined him lying there, staring at his own ceiling, replaying the same dinner she was. She imagined his hand doing what hers had just been doing, and the heat inside her flared again, sharp and insistent.

She didn't sleep. She lay there with the dark pressing in on her and let the want build until it was a physical thing, a pressure behind her ribs, a pulse between her legs that wouldn't stop. She watched the window go from black to gray, the first pale light of morning seeping through the curtains, and she listened to the house wake up around her.

Sara's alarm went off at five. Nadine heard the muffled buzz through the walls, the creak of the bed, the shuffle of feet on hardwood. The bathroom door clicked shut. Water ran. Muttered something about a shift that started too early. The kettle went on in the kitchen downstairs, and the smell of coffee began to drift up through the floorboards.

Nadine lay perfectly still, her heart hammering against her ribs, and waited.

The coffee mug clinked against the counter. Keys jangled. Sara's voice called up the stairs — something about lunch in the fridge, something about the lawn guy coming Thursday. Jim's answering mumble was barely audible, thick with sleep. The front door opened. Closed. The lock turned.

Silence.

The house settled into a different kind of quiet — not the breathing stillness of night, but the waiting hush of a space that had just been emptied. Nadine counted to a hundred. She listened for the sound of Sara's car pulling out of the driveway, the engine fading down the street. She heard it go, and with it went the last thin thread of restraint.

She swung her legs out of bed. Her feet found the cold wood floor, and she stood there for a moment in the gray morning light, wearing only the oversized t-shirt she'd slept in — wrinkled, soft, ending mid-thigh. Her nipples were hard, visible through the thin cotton, and she didn't bother to cross her arms over them.

She padded to the door and opened it. The hallway was empty, the stairs leading up to Jim's room a pale rectangle of light at the top. She could hear him moving up there — the creak of his bed, the soft thud of something hitting the floor. He was awake. Good.

Her bare feet made no sound on the stairs. She climbed them one at a time, her pulse a drum in her ears, her mouth dry. At the top of the landing she paused, looking at his door — closed, like it had been last night when he'd clicked it shut behind him. She remembered the sound of that click, the way it had sealed him away from her, and she reached out and turned the knob without knocking.

The door swung open.

His room hit her in a wave — stale sweat and his cologne, a scent that was all boy, all heat, all restless sleep. The curtains were drawn, but a single lamp on the nightstand cast a hot, yellow circle on the worn wooden floor, illuminating the chaos of his life: a pile of clothes in the corner, a stack of books on the desk, a gaming controller tangled in its cord on the floor.

And Jim, in the bed.

He was tangled in the sheets, the damp, rumpled fabric twisted around his legs, his bare chest rising and falling with sleep. The blanket had been kicked down to his hips, and he was wearing only a pair of thin pajama pants, the fabric clinging to him in a way that made her breath catch. His sandy hair was a mess, sticking up in every direction, and his mouth was slightly open, soft and vulnerable in sleep.

She crossed the room without making a sound and knelt on the edge of his bed. The mattress dipped under her weight, the springs sighing, and she felt the damp of the sheets through the thin cotton of her shirt. He'd been sweating in his sleep. Dreaming. She wondered what about.

She reached out and brushed a strand of hair off his forehead, her fingers trailing across his skin. He stirred, a small sound escaping his throat, and his eyelids fluttered.

"Jim," she said, her voice low and soft. "Wake up."

His eyes opened.

For a moment, he was just a boy waking up — blinking, confused, his gaze unfocused in the lamplight. Then his eyes found her face, and something clicked behind them. Recognition. Disbelief. A widening that was pure, naked shock.

"Nadine?" The word came out cracked, barely a whisper. He pushed himself up on his elbows, the sheet falling away from his chest, and stared at her like she was a hallucination. "What—what are you—"

"Shh." She put a finger to her lips, and he went silent, his throat working. "Your mom's gone. It's just us."

He stared at her, and she watched the confusion in his eyes slowly give way to something else — a dawning, helpless awareness. His gaze dropped from her face to her chest, where the thin cotton of her t-shirt clung to the shape of her breasts, her nipples hard and visible in the lamplight. She saw him register it, saw the flush creep up his neck, and she felt a slow, dark satisfaction curl through her.

"I couldn't sleep," she said, her voice a low murmur. "I kept thinking about last night. About you."

He swallowed. "About me?"

"About the way you looked at me." She shifted on the mattress, her knee brushing his leg through the sheet. "The way you couldn't stop looking at me. The way you wanted to touch me."

His breath was coming faster now, his chest rising and falling in the dim light. "I—I didn't—"

"Don't lie to me, Jim." She leaned closer, close enough that she could smell the sleep on him, the warm, boyish musk of his skin. "I saw your hands. I saw the way you pressed them against your lap. I saw what you were hiding."

He made a small, strangled sound, and his eyes dropped to her mouth. She watched him track the curve of her lips, watched the hunger rise in his face even as the shame fought it, and she knew she had him.

"I want to show you something," she said, and she reached down and took the hem of her t-shirt between her fingers.

His breath caught. His eyes went wide, fixed on her hands, on the inch of skin that appeared as she began to lift the fabric. The room went silent around them — the lamp's yellow circle, the damp sheets, the smell of sweat and cologne — all of it narrowing to this single point, this single moment.

The fabric rose. A strip of her stomach appeared — sun-kissed skin, the curve of her navel, the shadow of her hipbone. She saw his hands grip the sheets, his knuckles white, and she watched his chest stop moving as he forgot to breathe.

She lifted the shirt higher.

The fabric rose higher, revealing the underside of her breasts, the soft curve of them catching the lamplight. Jim's breath had stopped entirely, his chest frozen mid-rise, his eyes locked on the strip of skin she was exposing inch by inch. She watched his face, watched the way his lips parted, the way his throat worked, the way his hands gripped the sheets like they were the only thing keeping him anchored.

She pulled the shirt over her head and let it fall to the floor.

The room went very still.

She was naked from the waist up, her breasts bare in the warm lamplight, her nipples already hard from the morning air and from the weight of his stare. She saw him take her in — the full, heavy curve of her, the dark areolae, the way her chest rose and fell with her own quickened breathing — and she saw something in him break open. His eyes went dark, pupils swallowing the blue, and a sound escaped him, a small, strangled noise that was almost a whimper.

"Nadine," he breathed, and her name came out like a prayer.

She shifted on the mattress, bringing herself closer to him, her knee pressing into his thigh through the sheet. "You've never seen a woman's breasts before, have you?"

He shook his head, mute, his gaze still fixed on her chest.

"You can look," she said softly. "You can look as long as you want."

He did. His eyes traced the curve of her, the weight of her, the way the lamplight pooled in the hollow of her collarbone. His hands had stopped gripping the sheets; they lay open at his sides, trembling, and she could see the hunger in him, raw and unguarded and utterly without shame now that she'd given him permission.

"Can I—" His voice cracked. He swallowed and tried again. "Can I touch you?"

The question was so earnest, so desperate, that she felt a pulse of heat between her legs. She took his hand and brought it to her chest, pressing his palm flat against the curve of her breast. His skin was warm, slightly damp, and she felt his fingers curl instinctively, testing the weight of her.

"Like that," she murmured. "You're doing fine."

His thumb found her nipple, traced the edge of it, and she watched his face as he did it — the concentration, the wonder, the dawning pleasure of discovery. He was learning her with his hands, mapping her, and she let him, her head tilting back slightly as his touch grew bolder.

"The other one too," she said, and she guided his other hand to her chest, so that he was holding both of her breasts, his fingers kneading the soft flesh, his thumbs circling her nipples with an awkward, eager rhythm.

She was wet now, truly wet, the heat pooling between her legs, and she could feel the dampness seeping through the cotton of her shorts. She shifted on the mattress, pressing her thighs together, trying to ease the ache, and the movement drew his attention. His gaze dropped from her chest to her lap, to the thin fabric of her shorts, and she saw the flush spread across his cheeks.

"You're hard," she said. It wasn't a question.

He made a small, mortified sound, his hands falling away from her chest, but she caught his wrist before he could pull back.

"Don't hide it," she said. "That's the whole point. You don't hide it from me."

She reached down and took the hem of her shorts, and she saw his eyes go wide as she began to push them down her hips. The fabric slid over her thighs, over her knees, and she lifted her hips to let them fall away, leaving her naked on his bed, her bare cunt exposed to him in the lamplight.

He stared at her, his mouth open, his breathing ragged. She watched his gaze travel down her body — the curve of her waist, the flare of her hips, the dark triangle of hair between her thighs — and she saw his hands clench at his sides, saw the tremor run through him.

"Nadine," he whispered, and the word was thick with want.

She reached out and took his hand again, brought it to her thigh, guided it up the smooth skin until his fingers brushed the wet heat of her. He gasped, his fingers jerking back, but she held him there, pressing his hand against her.

"Feel that?" she murmured. "That's what you do to me. That's what I've been like since dinner."

His fingers moved tentatively, tracing the slick folds of her, and she felt his hand tremble against her skin. He was learning her by touch now, his fingertips exploring the shape of her, the heat of her, and she let him, her breath coming faster as his touch grew more certain.

"You're so wet," he breathed, and the wonder in his voice made her clench around nothing.

"That's because of you," she said. "Because I've been thinking about this all night. About you."

He made a small, desperate sound, and she saw the way his hips twitched against the mattress, the thin fabric of his pajama pants straining. She reached down and took the waistband of his pants between her fingers, and he went still, his eyes meeting hers.

"Can I?" she asked.

He nodded, mute, his throat working.

She pulled the pants down his hips, freeing his cock. It sprang up, hard and flushed, the tip already glistening with a pearl of pre-cum. She wrapped her fingers around the shaft, feeling the heat of it, the pulse of it, and she watched his face as she stroked him — the way his eyes fluttered closed, the way his lips parted on a ragged breath.

"Oh," he breathed. "Oh, god."

She pumped him slowly, her thumb sweeping over the head, spreading the slick moisture, and she felt him throb in her grip. His hips lifted off the mattress, pressing into her hand, and she let him set the rhythm, let him fuck her fist with an awkward, desperate urgency that made her own heat spike.

"I'm going to—" His voice broke. "Nadine, I'm going to—"

"Let go," she said softly. "It's okay. Let go."

He came with a strangled cry, his body arching off the bed, his cock jerking in her grip as hot, thick ropes of cum spilled over her fingers and onto his stomach. She watched him, watched the way his face twisted with pleasure and shame and relief, and she kept stroking him until he went limp, panting, his chest heaving.

She released him, her fingers slick with his release, and she wiped her hand on the sheet. He lay there, staring at the ceiling, his breathing ragged, his cheeks flushed. She could see the shame creeping back into his face, the way his jaw tightened, the way he wouldn't look at her.

"Hey," she said softly. She reached out and touched his cheek, turning his face toward her. "Look at me."

He met her eyes, and she saw the fear there, the embarrassment.

"That was good," she said. "That was perfect. Do you understand?"

He shook his head, a small, jerky movement. "I couldn't—I didn't even—"

"You didn't need to," she said. "You're nineteen. You're supposed to be quick. That's not a failure. That's just the beginning."

She lay down beside him, her body pressing against his, her hand resting on his chest. She felt his heart hammering beneath her palm, felt the sweat cooling on his skin, and she waited. She watched his breathing slow, watched the tension drain out of him, and she felt the faint stirring of his cock against her thigh.

She smiled. Already.

"See?" she murmured. "You're ready again."

He looked at her, his eyes wide, the shame fading into something else — a dawning hope, a desperate hunger. "Can we—"

"Yes," she said, and she rolled onto her back, pulling him with her. "But this time, I want you inside me."

He froze above her, his eyes searching hers. "Are you sure?"

"I've never been more sure of anything," she said, and she reached down and guided his cock to her entrance, the head pressing against the slick heat of her. "Slowly," she breathed. "Just push in slowly."

He did. He pushed forward, and she felt the head of his cock breach her, felt the stretch of him, the fullness. He gasped, his eyes going wide, and she felt him shudder above her.

"Oh, god," he breathed. "You're so tight."

She wrapped her legs around his hips and pulled him deeper, feeling him slide into her inch by inch, feeling the ache of being filled. He was thick, harder than she'd expected, and she felt her inner muscles clench around him, drawing him in.

"That's it," she murmured. "That's perfect. Now move."

He pulled back and thrust forward, a clumsy, uncertain rhythm, and she felt the friction of it, the heat of it. She guided him with her hands on his hips, showing him the pace, the angle, and slowly he began to find it — the rhythm, the depth, the way to make her gasp.

"Like that," she breathed. "Just like that."

He was learning, his body responding to her guidance, his thrusts growing more confident. She felt the pleasure building, a slow, steady heat, but it wasn't enough — not quite. He was close again, she could feel it in the way his breathing quickened, the way his thrusts grew erratic, and she knew he wouldn't last.

"I'm going to—" he gasped. "Nadine, I can't—"

"It's okay," she said, and she pulled him deeper, her legs tightening around him. "Come inside me."

He came with a broken cry, his body shuddering above her, his cock pulsing inside her. She felt the hot flood of his release, felt him collapse against her, his face buried in her neck, his breath ragged against her skin.

She lay there, holding him, feeling the weight of him, the heat of him. She was close — so close — but he was spent, soft inside her, and she felt the frustration curl through her, sharp and unsatisfied.

Not yet. But soon.

He pulled out of her, rolling onto his back, his chest heaving. She watched him, watched the way his hand came up to cover his face, the way his shoulders shook with the force of his breathing.

"I'm sorry," he whispered. "I couldn't—I didn't last—"

"Shh," she said, and she turned onto her side, propping herself up on her elbow. She traced a finger down his chest, felt the tremor run through him. "You did fine. You're learning."

He uncovered his face, meeting her eyes. "Is this—is this really happening?"

She smiled. "It is."

He reached out and touched her face, his thumb tracing the curve of her cheekbone. "Why are you doing this?"

"Because you deserve to know," she said. "To know what it feels like to be wanted. To know what to do with your hands, your mouth, your body. I can teach you."

He was quiet for a long moment, his eyes searching hers. "You'll teach me?"

"Yes," she said. "Every morning, while your mom's at work. I'll teach you everything I know."

She leaned down and pressed her lips to his, soft and warm, and she felt him respond, felt his hand come up to cup the back of her head. It was a gentle kiss, a promise, and when she pulled back, she saw the wonder in his eyes.

"But for now," she said, "I need you to rest. You've got a lot to learn."

She climbed off the bed, her body still humming with unspent heat, and she picked up her t-shirt from the floor. She pulled it over her head, the cotton falling to mid-thigh, and she looked back at him — lying there, naked, his skin flushed, his eyes still fixed on her.

"Tomorrow," she said. "Same time."

She walked to the door, and she felt his gaze on her the whole way. She paused in the doorway, looking back at him, and she saw the hunger still in his eyes, the desperate, aching want.

She smiled, and she closed the door behind her.

In the hallway, she leaned against the wall, pressing her thighs together against the ache she'd left unsatisfied. She'd been so close — so close — but she'd held back, saving it, savoring the promise of what was to come.

She had ten more mornings. Ten more lessons.

And by the time she was done with him, Jim would know exactly how to make her come.
