The Price Named

Marcus's hand trembles as he takes the vial, the glass warm from her palm. She uncaps it and the smell hits him—his mouth fills with saliva, his stomach clenches, and he drinks without meaning to, the milky fluid sliding down his throat in desperate gulps. The craving recedes like a wave pulling back from shore, leaving him gasping, empty, clear-headed for the first time since he woke. He looks up at Dr. Vance, and she is smiling. 'That one held off the first wave,' she says 'you should be fine for an hour or so' . Dr Vance explains that the vial contained semen. 'You'll need to earn it next time' Chloe enters the room.
