"Grabe ka, 'te! Ang bilis mo mag-ayos!" Xyra teased, flashing a mischievous grin as she saw me hurriedly packing my things.
I just shot her a glance and kept moving. Our professor had just dismissed class, and I was itching to find Kirvie waiting outside. I knew he’d be there, all patient and probably a little impatient—like me.
After a quick mirror check and fixing my hair, I stepped out the door, and right on cue, Kirvie was already standing by the entrance.
"Hi Kirv!" Xyra chirped with a wide smile, clearly enjoying teasing him.
Kirvie simply nodded, flashing that shy smile of his before walking over to me. I couldn’t help but laugh at Xyra’s exaggerated eye-roll towards him.
"Tsk, kayo na lang dalawa, ang sweet!" she muttered, half-annoyed, half-amused. "Sige na, magpaalis na para kami makakalabas."
"Bye, Xy!" I called cheerfully, grabbing Kirvie’s hand as we headed downstairs.
While descending, I caught a few curious glances from some girls, their necks craning like giraffes trying to sneak a peek at Kirvie.
Sure, he was handsome, but did they not know he already had a girlfriend?
Kirvie chuckled beside me.
"Ano 'yan, tawa ka lang?" I teased, nudging his arm.
"Ignore them, babe. My eyes are only for you," he said softly.
My cheeks warmed instantly. Seriously, he always knew how to make me melt.
"Saan tayo kakain?" I asked, trying to shift the mood to something more casual.
"Where do you wanna go?" he tossed back, grinning.
"Anywhere, basta kasama ka," I giggled. "Anong oras ba next mo klase?"
"1 pm," he replied shortly.
"Same here. Tara, sa condo na lang tayo. Ako na ang magluto," I suggested.
Kirvie nodded eagerly. "That sounds perfect."
We headed straight to my condo, Kirvie taking the wheel since he’d already learned how to drive my car. I remembered teaching him last time—he wanted to learn because he said he didn’t want me driving when we were together. I chuckled at how sweet that was.
"I’ll cook your favorite, baby," I declared the moment we stepped inside.
He smirked, eyes gleaming. "And I’ll give you a reward after."
"Anong klaseng reward yun?" I raised an eyebrow, curious.
"Secret," he teased.
"I know already, a kiss," I laughed, leaning closer.
"Ha?" He raised his eyebrows playfully.
I playfully pushed him aside so I could slip into my room and change.
Emerging in a simple tank top and shorts, I spotted Kirvie lounging against the couch, engrossed in a movie. I smirked and headed to the kitchen to start cooking. Adobo and caldereta—his favorites.
Thirty minutes later, I finished plating the food just as he walked in to help set the table. Kirvie even made fresh juice for us.
We ate quietly, both starving since I skipped breakfast due to the rush earlier.
After the meal, Kirvie offered to wash the dishes, which I gladly let him handle. No need for arguments today.
Later, when he joined me in the living room, I asked, "So, where’s my reward?"
He plopped down beside me, locking eyes before leaning in slowly. I closed my eyes instinctively as his lips met mine.
Just a brief kiss, but full of warmth and love.
"I love you so much, babe," he whispered.
"Love you too, baby ko," I whispered back, my heart swelling.
We decided to watch a movie together to pass the time. By 12:30, we were on our way back to school, Kirvie driving again.
At the parking lot, neither of us was quick to get out. I knew next week would be a nightmare with midterms looming, and we both wanted to focus.
He looked at me sadly, and I mirrored his expression.
Closing the distance, he kissed me softly. My hand found the nape of his neck as his arms wrapped around my waist.
Before long, I was in his lap, breathless from the sudden closeness.
We locked eyes, the world around us fading.
"I love you, hmm—" I began, but he silenced me with another kiss.
"F*ck!" he cursed quietly as his hands boldly roamed.
I laughed. "First time mo lang ba 'yan?"
He broke the kiss, looking at me with a mixture of amusement and desire.
"Don’t forget, you’ve done much worse to me," I teased.
"Oh d*mned, your mouth, baby," he grinned.
Suddenly, he looked serious. "Let’s go. We’re gonna be late."
I raised an eyebrow. "Ayaw mo na ba?"
"Stop it," he pleaded, trying to dodge my teasing.
"Come on, hold it. It’s yours, after all," I said with a smirk.
"Sh*t!" he cursed again.
"C’mon, it’s waiting—"
"Shush, Hails," he interrupted. "There’s nothing to hold. You’re just wearing foams."
And with that, he hopped out of the car, leaving me speechless.
What the hell?! Foam pala?
Just wait till I see you again, Kirvie. He knows I’m blessed in every way—except in height.
I fixed myself in the mirror before storming out of the car. I thought he’d wait for me, but nope, he left me hanging.
I went straight to our classroom, relieved to arrive just as our professor entered. My best friend greeted me with a wide grin.
"Mukha kang bitin, ha," she whispered.
I rolled my eyes. "Shut up!"
"Bitin nga," she teased again.
I rested my head on the desk, still annoyed at Kirvie’s comment.
"What happened?" Xyra nudged me.
I glanced at her, noticing her eyes widen at my red-rimmed eyes.
"Nag-away kami," I confessed quietly. "Sabi niya flat chested daw ako, at foam lang suot ko!"
"What!?" she gasped.
"MISS CUA!" our professor called at her. "Get out!"
"Sorry!" Xyra started, but the professor gave a stern glare, and she left quickly.
I stood up, drawing the attention of everyone, including the professor.
"What now, Miss Monterey?" she asked sharply. "Do you wish to follow Miss Cua? The door is open."
"Sorry, ma'am," I said, grabbing my things and leaving.
I hurried to catch Xyra, who was waiting outside, surprised to see me.
"Sh*t! Why did you follow? Wala tayong notes!" she whispered.
"Bahala na," I shrugged. "Mas okay, dalawa tayo. Goals!"
"Putcha, ang daming lumalabas sa bibig mo!" she whispered, laughing.
"I can’t accept it. Gusto mo ipahawak ko pa sayo?" I said, mock disgusted.
"Yuck! Eww!" she acted like she was about to puke.
"As if!" I laughed, both of us cracking up.
We realized we looked ridiculous standing in the middle of the field, thankfully with few people around since most were in class.
Xyra tugged me towards the cafeteria, saying she was hungry. I didn’t argue; it was embarrassing to be the only one eating.
Sipping on a chocolate drink, I spotted Kirvie inside the printing shop with his friends—one of whom I didn’t like.
My face twisted into a scowl.
"What’s wrong?" Xyra asked, following my gaze.
I pointed at Kirvie and his crew. Even Xyra glanced over and smirked.
"Go talk to him," she urged.
"No way, leave him there," I replied, opening a book to hide my expression.
But Kirvie caught sight of me anyway, raising an eyebrow before glancing at his friends.
Then he walked over.
"Why are you here? Shouldn’t you be in your room, listening to your prof?" he asked.
"Nyenye," I teased. "Go away—you’re ruining my mood."
He ignored me, placing a black monoblock chair beside me before sitting.
His hands slid to my thigh instantly. I heard Xyra clear her throat sharply.
"Okay, maglandian na kayo. Pretend I’m not here," she joked.
I rolled my eyes at her.
Kirvie whispered, "Why are you here?"
"Paki mo?" I snapped. "Go back to your girl."
"My baby is right here," he grinned.
"Hindi ako sanggol," I scoffed.
"I know," he nodded. "But you’re my baby, hmm?"
"Tsk!" I clicked my tongue, though I felt my heart flutter.
He chuckled softly.
"Kirv!" his friends called out.
He glanced at them, then leaned in close to me.
"I was just joking earlier," he said quietly. "I know you’re not flat chested and that it’s not foam. You just turn me on, babe."
I smiled, relieved and touched. Despite all the teasing, I knew our love was real.
