The Goodbye

Willow's hand closes over David's on the phone, and she pulls it from his grip, her voice steady for the first time. 'Claire, I'm staying with David forever as Willow. Goodbye.' She ends the call before Claire can answer, then looks up at David, the come still drying on her cheek. He smiles and pockets the phone, his hand finding the cage key in his jacket, and she feels the plug pulse inside her as he says, 'Good girl. Now we begin.'
